Many of you already know her, or have seen her work… and probably admired it without even realizing it. Cole is a professional photographer known for her work in the jewelry industry.
Photography is something I know comes up for a lot of us and sometimes has us banging our heads against a wall.
This is such a full conversation. We talk about when it might be time to get help, and what actually makes an image stand out.
There’s also a really honest look at the gap between how a piece feels in your hand and how it shows up in a photo… which I think we’ve all experienced at some point.
And she shares a lot of practical insight too, when photographing your own work.

Smushes became the final title for these 18ky hammered blobs of gold. I love the euphonic nature of the word smush. Symbolizing lateral red port and green starboard navigation lights. We’re all searching for something. You are the captain of your own ship, but you need light, you need guidance for your journeys. That is the metaphor it is all riding on. Maybe you’re lost; spiritually. Maybe life is not going according to plan and you’re searching for a way through. The symbolism of these earrings deeply resonate with my recent body of work: meditations on water, color, light and navigational metaphors. Lovely photo @coleimage

She creates unique jewelry that the wearer finds graceful yet strong, artistic, and comfortable to wear.
When I unpacked these brooches, my heart will filled with joy and they made me smile when shooting them.

Walk for Peace – Day 95 | Gasburg, VA
January 28, 2026
I arrived at 4:30 p.m. Strangers stood together in the dark until 7:30pm, waiting for the Buddhist monks. It was 27 degrees—icy and joyful. No one left.
We talked, listened, and shared a quiet hope for something better.
Then we sat in meditation, learning how peace spreads—
person to person.
Grateful beyond words for the venerable monks and their Walk for Peace, when it is deeply needed.
Sādhu.

Walk for Peace – Day 94, Warren County.
I felt very fortunate to witness the Walk for Peace on January 27, 2026.
They moved steadily and in silence—no speeches, no signs.
They were protected from passing cars, yet vulnerable to the ice beneath their feet.
They walked for peace, for healing, for all beings.
And that felt especially powerful at a time in the United States when peace is not something many of our cities are experiencing.
