Another wonderful EITC field trip in the books
We were thrilled to welcome students from North Coventry & French Creek Elementary for an unforgettable day on the Colebrookdale Railroad — and what an exciting experience it turned out to be!
As we rolled along the tracks, we witnessed something truly special… a baby deer was being born right near the rails!!!!
While our engineer couldn’t grab a photo (safety first while driving the train!), he made sure to slow down so we wouldn’t disturb the moment. On the return trip, he carefully checked again to make sure mom and baby were together — and they were! Thanks Doc!!!
It’s moments like these that remind us every trip is a new adventure. You never know what you’ll see on the Colebrookdale Railroad, and that’s part of the magic.
We love being able to provide these experiences through our EITC programs and share unforgettable, real-life moments with our amazing students! So the photo was NOT taking today but in our backyard... its a reminder of what you could see while riding the through the Secret Valley!

All aboard for an unforgettable day!!!
We had the absolute pleasure of hosting students from 10th & Penn Elementary of the Reading School District along with the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit (Autistic Support program) for a very special field trip.
For some of these students, this was their very first time seeing a real-life train — and one student said it best: “It was just as I saw it in my dreams.”
From the moment they stepped aboard, the excitement was contagious. And yes… “Conductor Steve was the best ever!” (we agree 😉)
The day didn’t stop there — Reading School District even chose to enjoy lunch right in the railyard, making the experience even more immersive and memorable.
Experiences like this are made possible at no cost through our EITC grants, and we’re so grateful to be able to open the world of railroading to these incredible young students. We love helping create new railfans and lifelong memories

Behind the scenes, we have been working to prepare for some very exciting progress in Boyertown’s downtown. A beautiful new brick walkway with historic gas lamps, street trees, and landscaping will be highlighting Pear Street soon. Construction is underway now!
These projects are part of our continuing investment in the infrastructure of the downtown that we love. We are proud to invest in our communities of Boyertown and Pottstown while preserving and enhancing a unique destination for generations to come.

At the Colebrookdale Railroad, our Summer Restoration Trades Internship isn’t about sitting behind a desk—it’s about rolling up your sleeves and bringing vintage train cars back to life.
One day you might be sanding wood, the next welding steel, painting train cars or helping restore the inner workings of a historic railcar. It’s hands-on, it’s a little gritty, and it’s incredibly rewarding.
You’ll spend 8 weeks learning from skilled craftspeople, working on real equipment, and being part of something that actually lasts for generations. Oh—and yes, it’s paid!! 💯
We’re only taking a small group, so if you’re into history, trades, or just want a summer that’s way more interesting than the usual… this might be your track.
