A travel log worth sharing: the Santino team spent time at Nuova Simonelli, exploring the engineering, innovation, and heart behind the machines shaping modern coffee.
More than a factory tour — it was a chance to connect with the people and passion driving the industry forward.
If you haven’t heard; we’re gathering at Shake Coffee for the inaugural SGCN brewdown!
Our judges are:
1) Kelly, 2nd runner up at SNBC 2025 (@coffeewithkellylee )
2) Jethro, from Valence Coffee Studio (@valencecoffeestudio )
3) Lloyd, head honcho of the SGCN (@lloyd.ology )
Competition rules are as follows:
1) Beans to be entered for competition must be roasted locally (in 🇸🇬) and must be available for purchase via regular retail channels prior to 16 Nov 2025.
2) Competitors are to bring with them any equipment they may choose to use. However, each competitor will only be allowed access to two (2) electrical outlets.
3) Competitors are allotted a maximum of 10 minutes per round, including dosing, grinding and brewing. Time taken to set up their stations will not count towards the 10 minutes allotted.
4) Competitors are to prepare and serve no less than 150g of their brew into the vessels provided for judging.
5) Competitors are allowed the use of ice in their routine. However, please note that the use of such does by no means confer any form of advantage during the judging.
