An unrevised letter I wrote to my past self. Voice recorded in one take. Writing a letter to thank myself was an exercise in the workbook, “Unbland Yourself” by @thechrisdo & @thefuturishere . This turned out to be the most difficult thing I've ever written. I couldn’t write the first few sentences without stepping away a few times to cry. I've been extremely fortunate to have encouraging people around me to help me stay on my path. But no one is there to witness your entire journey except yourself. The long nights crunching for impossible deadlines, the opportunities you said no to that you ruminate over, the relationships you couldn't keep because you selfishly chose yourself instead. Thoughts are ephemeral, but words written down stare right back at you. Taking the time to write to my past self was the moment of acknowledgement I never knew I needed. Thank you to everyone who’s been a part of my life so far. To those just tuning in, these are the moments to catch you up to speed.

I almost quit editing. About 10 years into my journey, I felt like I wasn't getting anywhere. Trapped in a cycle of burnout, I didn't know what to do. My latest YouTube video goes into the habits that were holding me back the most, but weren't obvious until I took a step back. Check it out with the link in by bio đź”— #videoediting #editor

I used to slap overlays on everything thinking it would make my edits look “cinematic”. Grain, burns, glitches, you name it. Instead of elevating the story, it just made my footage feel cluttered and cheap. It took me years to realize it was never about the overlay itself. I just wasn’t intentional about how and why I used it. In my latest video, I break down 5 lessons that helped me stop hiding behind overlays. Whether you're using free assets or pro packs, these tips have helped me support the emotion of every scene. 🔗 Full YouTube link in bio!
