A Sunday Matinee mixed bill. We got Cœur À L’Index from Brussels down playing their brand of bubblegum-y but driven Power Pop, before heading up to their London gig in the evening. Supporting them are Brighton staples Plastics, playing their first show this year, Brighton new blood Backhand, and Idris Mirza (Imposter/Bad Breeding) playing a rare show of his own brand of nuts freak out music. Get down early since doors will be at 2pm, and the gig should be over by around 5pm. Hope to see you there

Off the back of their 2023 Demo and their 8 track LP for La Vida Es Un Mus (2025). CŒUR À L’INDEX deal in a sound that will make your knees weak and heart melt from the very first note to the last. Fragile pop songs for people who love C86 as much as they love power pop and punk, but who also have a soft spot for French Chanson from the 60’s onwards. An instant sugar rush with a bubblegum flavour of a band bought up on a diet of GIRLS AT OUR BEST, DOLLY MIXTURE and CHIN CHIN but also ELLI ET JACNO, LOUISE FERRON or RENAUD from who they lifted their album tittle. Part of a new wave of bands like ALVILDA and RIBBON STAGE their debut LP has bounce, it’s upbeat and it’s the perfect calling card.
Joined by local favourites GRAZIA fresh off their recent French tour bringing a sound that pays homage to everything from The Fall to cheap lingerie brands in a campy pastiche of 80’s new wave and pop.
