De grap is dat ik deze érg heftig vind en een paar keer twijfelde of plaatsen wel gepast is. Maar dit is ook mijn minst uitgesproken setje tot nu toe. Alle narigheid zit namelijk niet in mijn toevoegingen. Maar in de uitspraken van de PVVers, rechtstreeks citaten. Want tjah, hoe maak je daar nog satire van? (Ja oke, een hoedje, ik moet toch ergens comedy zoeken)
Tijdens het tekenen luisterde ik naar de podcast van @degroeneamsterdammer over de angst van radicaal rechts. (Erg de moeite) En naar Michael Nyman. Want stiekem weet ik wel dat ik een parodie op een links gutmensch ben.
Hoi, ik ben eigenlijk te druk voor plaatjes online. We zijn een maand verder en we zijn al achttien nieuwsnachtmerries verder.
*Schoof was tijdens de DDR werkzaam bij VNG als ambtenaar in een functie die niets te maken heeft met spionage, ogenschijnlijk natuurlijk. (OooOooOOOh)
En een correctie; Yesilgoz heeft natuurlijk afstand gedaan van haar nationaliteit. Beter had ik de term roots gebruikt oid. Want in tegenstelling tot het kabinet respecteer ik wel hoe iemand zich identificeert.
En zijn we al weg van Instagram? Ik heb nog steeds Vero van de vorige keer dat heel tekenend instagram zou vertrekken.

Another 24-Hour Comics post. This was a very special one, hosted by @thebigdrawnederland in a haunted medieval house, with a beautiful view. Not that we found any ghosts, we were too busy doing fucking comics! If you swipe, you'll find three of them, discussing some high-brow comics stuff I'm sure. The other two I tagged as potted plants for your pleasure.
Continuing on the 'another' theme. This project was a collaborative effort, like my previous one, resulting in a nice thick book which has the aforementioned Kickstarter going on. I thought I was going to do this hyped up last effort push. But by the time I got around to writing this we made it! (have a drink, it's on you!) Without risks this is your perfect impulse evening purchase! (search the site for 'Ripple', you'll get there)
Another thing I was very late with was the actual comic. We were given four themes. And me, trying to prove myself to these great comic-creator people, thought I'd outdo them and do all the themes told in blocks of six pages. Because 24, y'know. I called myself a fucking genius for about 18 hours before, yet again, the realization sank in I bit off too much to chew.
Ultimately I needed six hours of overtime. (ha, #football joke) Which amounts to drawing six pages from scratch. I do like how it turned out though, the vignette storytelling suits what I wanted to do, but too restricted for a 24H.

Yes, I brew industrial sized coffee for myself, no it's not particularly good. Not because it's a poor coffee maker, but because of it's limitations. It does not care for you or your third-of-a-can attempts. It needs a crowd to please, it needs a public to perform. It obviously can't like me.
So while we sit there, disliking each other, and me attaching too much personality to a chromed boiler. I start drawing the thing, because there's something nice about a thing which is so uncompromisingly about function and not form. No-one cared if it fits a kitchen, or fatally injures children. It needs to do one thing, and that is making gallons of coffee and not care about your weedy portions.
I don't think I ever made a decent post about Cottonmouth Gulch. It's a 24Hour comic that I did in tandem with @gringocomics and @boboptland
The premise is extremely simple, three characters walk into an old West town, the town won't survive.
The story is told simultaneously from the three distinct perspectives.
As a project it was extremely fun, the story was completely improvised, and because you're drawing it together, under pressure, you can bounce off each other and put weird 'cross story' interactions in in a way that would be very difficult in a more normal workflow.
As a comic it was quite the thing to do. We decided to go full hog on the 1960's vibe, including printing the thing on that grainy off white paper, resurrecting a died off screentone and physically painting the cover. (I did that, I still quite like it)
Everything considered it came out better than I expected, you can barely tell most of it was thrown together in 24 hours.
Het koddige initiatief @teken_de_tekenaar was niet te actief dus ik dacht, laat ik er een extra tekenaar ingooien! @gringocomics striptekenaar bij nacht, maar als de zon opkomt slijt hij je favoriete drank alsof er geen morgen is. Een dubbele identiteit, zoals Batman, maar met minder alcohol achter de schermen.
Het zou te gemakkelijk zijn Ruben een tekenaar uit de @kafzines stal te laten tekenen dus hij krijgt van mij. @morixanne veel succes!

Heb je ineens een challenge aan je broek hangen. Leuk, tof! Tekenen! Delen! Joei! Dolenthousiast begin je aan een krabbel tot je enkele deadlines later door je dummy bladert en je realiseert dat je al een eeuwigheid niet eens naar Instagram gekeken hebt.
Gelukkig is @boboptland wél een grambeest en ik weet zeker dat hij ook vind dat er altijd meer tekeningen mogen zijn van @abe_borst de regels zijn zi eenvoudig als maar kan.
P.s. @wimpiecomics die kogelbrieven liever met retouradres, ik weet anders ook nooit zeker van wie ze komen.
