Every year I release a music video on May 5th and I’ve always tried to outdo myself. My goal isn’t to make a better video, but a different one in attempting something new. Through the years I’ve come to realize I like creating music because, more broadly, I just love bringing ideas to life. Whether it’s an event, a song, or in this case, visuals. This year, I wanted to direct and edit it myself. I think the more mediums you can learn to create in, you get closer to expressing yourself as authentically as possible. If I can write and produce a song and create the visual idea, direct it, and edit it, I think it inherently becomes more and more original. I’m learning a lot recently and continuing to discover myself through it all. I don’t know where all of this is going, but I’m just happy to have had a great team on this one that trusted the vision. Huge thanks to @ajoaniss@codystauffer and @sethfrancois for being apart of bringing this to life. It was worth all of the mosquito bites. To follow up the Bittersweet (Breakup Version) you may have seen me promoting on a random sidewalk, we’re releasing the BITTERSWEET (MAKEUP VERSION) SONG & MUSIC VIDEO, MAY 5TH.
