Happy birthday Iz! You make the world a happier, more positive place with everything you do. I love you and I can’t wait to come up with our next adventure together. Here’s a few photos of her just being the best.
I’m super late on this but Eliza and I finished the JMT a few weeks back. Couldn’t be more proud of us.
- 6 months of of planning and training
- 260 miles of walking over 22 days and 45000 ft of elevation gain from Mount Whitney to Yosemite
- Ton’s of trail friends met along the way
- The most incredible scenery of California every day
- So many thunderstorms
- Never knowing where we are/ the trail guessing game
- And countless dance moves/silly moments with Eliza that got us through the challenging and truly terrifying times.
I can’t believe we were able to complete it! I’m feeling so grateful that we weren’t cut off by fires and smoke, our bodies held up, and we kept it fun! Couldn’t have done it without all the amazing trail angels, fellow JMT’ers, or Eliza.
I’m happy to be back with Rio and all the photos/memories, but now I’m in severe need of another goal. More to come on the photo and next goal front.
