Apocalyptic colors of @takeru_otsuka going big. Shot last spring durning the filming of Paved at @mammothmountain . It was a surreal few days photographing the Burton and RedBull crew. Incredible riding, beautiful light, and all time jump features made by the @mammothunbound crew. Since I spend a lot of time trying to keep the colors in my photos true to real life, I had a lot of fun cranking the slides to the extreme!
The storm raged on, feeling the power of the wind on my face and the deep snow under my boots. It’s special to be amongst a strong winter storm like this in the Sierra. The early mornings and gnarly driving conditions were hard, but the photos that are made from it are always worth it. Here are a few scenes from the big storm last week that dropped about 6 feet of snow. All photos were shot around and for @mammothmountain
Great Sunday walk with my love ❤️ We’ve both spent a lot of time in this canyon. Walking running, skiing backpacking, riding horses. It’s great to return with new sights and conditions. Shot on January 18th.
I spent this last summer photographing some of the different departments at @mammothmountain . It really takes a village to run this place. And it’s amazing how much hard work and passion goes on behind the scenes.
Very few dads have the energy and dedication like @tomlippen does. On pow days I’d get a phone call from Tom, “Hey buddy, what’s the plan?” He’s humble, stoked and always willing to put in the extra work for the photo, which means a lot to a photographer. Can’t wait to rip a some more laps soon…
