This is probably one of the most representative pictures from the local sound system culture, showcasing the unity, friendship, and passion of like minded people. The photo features a collab of Black Rhino & Riddim Bandits Sound System crew, working together to build the sound stack. Everything had to be ready in 45 minutes. Unity ❤️ Taken by @tomahurduc at @blackrhino_radio residency in @clubcontrol , amplified by @riddimbanditscrew sound system.

No matter the times, music will always connect. A large shout to everyone who came and danced with us last night, at @blackrhino_radio residency ❤️ Much love to @irationsteppas , @ma_kayasound , @mrbonnieblazer , and low freq (@codin.oraseanu ) for the music selection, each set taking a different drift in the night’s journey into sound and culture. And, as Iration Steppas said, the @riddimbanditscrew sound system was crystal 🔊 Photos: @valeriucatalineanu

BRUTUS” is a monthly ZINE produced by @clubcontrol and distributed free in the club and at selected partner locations around the city. It was created in response to the club’s need for an alternative way to communicate its monthly programme and to bring the community closer through diverse, curated content.
The magazine takes its name from Brutus, a cat who once lived on the club’s terrace and, over time, became a beloved presence and an informal mascot of the space. Even after Brutus was no longer there, he remained a strong symbol for the community. The club honored him by naming its Tuesday night after him and turning it into a special weekly ritual, offering a 50% discount on all drinks after 10 PM. We welcome the spring in great style and fashion, unfolding a stellar lineup bringing some of the UK’s veterans, marking @blackrhino.radio ’s 25th residency at @clubcontrol .
⏳ March 14 — Black Rhino Residency 25 🚀 Iration Steppas • Ma-Kaya • Low Freq 🔊 Amplified by @riddimbanditscrew sound system 🎫 Tickets from the link in bio 🖤 Headlining the night is Leeds icon @irationsteppas , a name that left a huge footprint in the evolution and development of dub music. Producer, selector, sound system builder, Mark also stands as one of dub’s most active teachers, having shaped generations of artists and passing along so much of his knowledge, keeping the culture alive and flourishing. His music legacy stands out as one that firmly succeeded in building communities.
🖤 Next on the lineup, we are  happy to welcome @ma_kayasound . The Birmingham reggae sound is one of those grassroots cultural engines that helped shape the UK’s reggae landscape from the late 1970s onward. While not as globally documented as some London or Jamaican outfits, Ma-Kaya played a meaningful role in the community-driven sound-system culture of Birmingham, a city with one of the deepest Caribbean diasporas in the UK. Ma-Kaya’s impact lies mostly in cultural infrastructure, where they helped nurture the Midlands reggae identity that later fed into UK lovers rock, dub poetry, and jungle scenes. 🖤 Black Rhino Radio founder and selector Low Freq (@codin.oraseanu ) joins the lineup and opens the sessions with a reggae and dub selection, setting up the atmosphere for the night. 🖼️ Artwork by @policromic

Low Freq (@codin.oraseanu ) dives into the history lane and explores the late 70s explosion of the Rub-a-dub style, a genre that made the transition from the roots music to the dancehall. This period is the most intriguing one in Jamaican history because it contains elements of the past and of the future of this musically rich country. Live from 2 PM EET 📻Listen live from the link in our bio. 🛜If you miss the show, you can listen back from our website, Mixcloud and Soundcloud.
