The future is high school! Earlier this month, we hosted representatives from the XQ Institute and students from @jeffcoschoolsco , @cherrycreekschools , @canoncityre1 , and @stvrainvalleyschools for a roundtable discussion on the state of postsecondary and workforce readiness. They were joined by Assistant Commissioner of Student Pathways Danielle Ongart and State Board of Education member Lisa Escarcega.
This event provided an opportunity for students to share their real-life experiences what's working, what opportunities exist, and how well high school is preparing them for life after graduation. Thank you to XQ Institute for putting on this event and to the students for their honest and insightful comments!

It’s What’s Up Wednesday! We hosted feedback sessions in Grand Junction, Pueblo, and Arvada to share early findings about how a possible technology solution could help reduce administrative burdens for Colorado educators.
About 155 participants representing 74 districts, BOCES, the Charter School Institute, and the Colorado League of Charter Schools joined in person and virtually. They shared input on potential solutions, costs, and whether changes would be worthwhile. That feedback will help shape final recommendations, with a full analysis expected in June.
Today for Teacher Tuesday, we celebrate Leah Montequin, a kindergarten teacher at Lois Lenski Elementary in the @lps.k12 .
Leah has been teaching for 25 years and serves on her school’s PBIS committee and building leadership team, contributes to the district’s financial advisory committee, and is a member of the @littleton_ea 's executive board. Her passion for education comes from understanding what makes teaching and learning environments successful and bringing that to each new group of students. “I learned early on how important a sense of community is for a student, no matter their background,” she says.
Outside of school, Leah enjoys hiking and traveling, both across the U.S. and internationally. She’s also an avid reader of mystery novels and loves spending time with her kids and her dog, along with dancing and attending concerts.
