I was lucky enough to get this awesome Vampi painting a few years ago and it was my prized possession. @grgholmes offered to purchase it several times during our shows with @carmines_comics Eventually, we agreed on a price on the condition that if/when he decided to sell it, he’d offer it back to me first. This book has become extremely sought-after in recent years and very hard to find, especially a first print with the original dust jacket! -Crime SuspenStories #20 (EC Comics, 1953/54)- 353 on census, 56 higher This book needs no introduction… Arguably one of comics most recognizable horror covers. Used in Seduction of the Innocent and referenced in The Senate Hearings on Juvenile Delinquency. Currently tied for 4th on Overstreet’s Top 10 Crime Comics list. -Eerie Comics #1 (Avon, 1947)- 127 on census, 59 higher The first all-horror comic book was the one and only issue of Eerie! A comic book dedicated exclusively to horror was a novelty at the time, but within a few years they dominated the newsstands! It is currently the 2nd book on Overstreet’s Top 10 Horror Comics list. -Classic Comics #13 (Gilberton, 1943)- 59 on the census Referenced in Seduction of the Innocent and considered by some to be the first horror comic. This issue Adapts the classic horror novel by Robert Louis Stevenson. When this book hit newsstands it was an immediate sensation and spurred more horror-esque stories in the title. -Famous Funnies #27 (Eastern Color, 1936)- 29 on census, 18 higher War on Crime begins! This was the first "true crime" story in comics. These stories were based on materials supplied by the Criminal Records Division of the FBI & J. Edgar Hoover himself! The Photo-Journal Guide to Comic Books lists this issue as a "7” ("scarce”) on its Scarcity Index. -Crime Does Not Pay #22 (1) (Lev Gleason, 1942)- 47 on census, 27 higher What a legendary crime title. This was the first issue of the title, formerly Silver Streak Comics, as well as the first solely crime-related comic book. Rated a “7” (“scarce”) by The Photo-Journal Guide to Comic Books. Currently tied for 4th on Overstreet’s Top Ten Crime Comics list.

💀 Beyond #25 (1954) ✈️ Published by Ace Periodicals, Beyond was one of the standout pre code horror and suspense runs of the 1950s. The series showcased science fiction, psychological horror, and supernatural stories that made these books a go to for comic readers. Ace provided shocking imagery and wild concepts, and covers like this are a huge reason collectors still chase these books today. This issue is one of the infamous “Dirty 2 Dozen” books and easily one of the coolest covers in the run. Two skeletal pilots calmly flying a plane while telling the stewardess the passengers will “have a nice long sleep” is just awesome. Covers and stories like this became major targets during the anti comics backlash of the 1950s and were the exact kind of material later criticized during the Senate Subcommittee on Juvenile Delinquency hearings that same year. This one was a lucky find for me and I already know it’s headed off for grading soon. Even better, it’ll be getting the new custom Dirty 2 Dozen label that James over at @codebluecomics brought to life. If you have a senate book in your collection, I recommend getting the label because it fits these books perfectly and highlights an important piece of comic history.

Here is a rare one and a nice overseas ebay find. This is Justice traps the guilty #6. A Great Britian reprint of Justice traps the guilty #62. This was either printed in 1954 or 1955. I do like it, but open to offers lol
