Our Young Founders (ages 12â15) had a fun and super interactive masterclass with Moritz from Germany all about storytelling and pitching their startup ideas with confidence. đ¤đĄ
This session was part of our Young Founders incubation program, where kids turn their ideas into real products and ventures: @codewithkids / codewithkids.africa/learner-startups
Moritz helped our learners:
đ Turn their ideas into clear, memorable stories
đ Put the customer as the âheroâ and their startup as the âguideâ
đ Avoid âdeath by PowerPointâ with simple, visual slides
đ Use their voice and body language to pitch with confidence
And he didnât come empty-handedâŚ
On a cold Nairobi morning, he brought yummy, nutritious mandazi from Mandazi Power, and we all shared hot tea + mandazi together. âď¸đĽ The vibes were warm, homely and full of questions from our curious young founders.
Moritz ALSO boosted our Esports & digital skills program by donating:
đŽ 2 PlayStation consoles with FIFA 2025 + Minecraft
đŽ 3 extra PS4 pads so more kids can play and learn together
For us, Esports is more than games. We use it to teach:
⨠Teamwork
⨠Strategy
⨠Digital literacy
⨠Discipline & resilience
Weâre so grateful for Moritzâs time, mentorship and generosity in supporting the next generation of African innovators. đđž

Proof that small hands can build a sustainable world đđ
We spent an amazing day at the SDGs Academy for Children in Kenya, established by Arigatou International. Our learners explored the 5 Pâs, tackled real-world innovation, and experienced learning through play, stories, and the _Learning To Live Together_ program.
Empowered. Inspired. Ready to act.

At the end of our 3-week Daraja Tech Program, our participants took on an exciting challengeâcreating projects inspired by the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). đâ¨
Each project was designed to tackle real, everyday challenges within their communities. Using cutting-edge AI tools like Loveable.AI, they built functional websites and applications from scratchâthen presented their solutions to their peers and teachers.
At Daraja Tech Program, we are equipping the next generation with skills that truly matter. đťâ¨
During the launch of our 3-week flagship program in February 2026, our students were taught Pythonâone of the worldâs most powerful and versatile programming languages.
We believe that expanding access to digital skills within marginalized communities can unlock potential and serve as a bridge to greater opportunities. đđ

Todayâs lesson wasnât in a classroom, it was about the world đ
At the SDG Academy, the kids learned that even the smallest voices can create the biggest change đ
We had the privilege of introducing young minds to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, planting seeds of awareness, responsibility, and hope for a better future.
Because the future isnât just something we wait for⌠itâs something we nurture in our children đ

At Code With Kids, we had the honor of traveling to Wuzhen, China for the Enjoy AI 2025 Global Finals with Madam Mary Kerema, OGW â Secretary for ICT, E-Government, and Digital Economy in Kenyaâs Ministry of ICT and the Digital Economy. đ°đŞâď¸đ¨đł
In August, we proudly hosted the Enjoy AI 2025 Kenya Championship in Nairobi. That journey led us to Wuzhen, where 36 brilliant young innovators represented Kenya on the global stage, showcasing the creativity and resilience of young people back home.
While in China, we joined the 2025 International Forum on Educational Robotics Development, Learning Innovation, and Talent Cultivation in the Age of AI. Madam Mary delivered a powerful keynote, âEmpowering Humanity in the Age of Intelligent Machines: Rethinking Education, Creativity, and Purpose,â and joined a high-level panel on deploying AI in classrooms and building inclusive digital ecosystems that leave no one behind.
Our founder, Renice Owino, represented Kenya and Code With Kids as a panelist in âENJOY AI Stories from Around the World,â sharing how we use educational robotics and AI literacy to reach learners from Nairobi to Kajiado and Turkana, alongside inspiring leaders from across the globe. Together, we explored how hands-on robotics, teacher support, and global collaboration can transform classrooms and futures.
Moments like these remind us that a child learning to code in Kenya can build solutions for the world â and this is just the beginning.
Huge shout-out to Madam Mary Kerema, OGW, for joining us and witnessing young learners proudly flying the Kenyan flag on the global stage. â¤ď¸đ°đŞ

At the Eco Heroes Hackathon, The Wisemen turned sunshine into innovation.
Remnicx, Jabari, and Sam built JuaPower, a web platform that lets users easily book access to clean solar energy systems through an online booking page.
Their project proves how young people can use code to create real climate solutions, making renewable energy more accessible and organised for the communities around them.
This is the kind of futureâfocused problem solving we love to see.

Team Champions really took it to the next level at our Eco Heroes Hackathon.
They built AirGuard, an industrial airâpollution monitoring dashboard that tracks COâ, NOx, SOâ and PM2.5 emissions across different facilities in real time.
From live metric cards and emission trend charts to compliance status and threshold alerts, their project doesnât just display dataâit also suggests practical reduction strategies to help industries actively lower their environmental impact.
This is exactly what we mean when we say young people can code solutions for a greener tomorrow.

The team Scripters won in their category with a brilliant project: a chatbot that teaches people about deforestation and includes a quiz game where users earn points as they answer questions correctly.
Itâs a powerful blend of education and gamification that raises awareness, rewards curiosity, and shows exactly how young people can use technology to protect the planet.
Team members: Jenny Fair, Patricia, Ezekiel and Rebecca.

This is the Cool boys team, they created a scratch game that collects litter and disposes it to the dustbin.
Jayceon, Jehriel and Jaheim. They were able to participate in the hackathon and present their project to the judges.
The hackathon theme was Eco Heroes, Code for a green tomorrow
They were 2nd place in their category.

Some of our Code With Kids learners spent their Saturday turning ideas into impact at the STEM Hackathon Series in Nairobi, held by @learningsprouts_ and
Our youngest coders (just 7 years old) diving into the Scratch category and building a trash collection game.
6 learners tackling the fastâpaced Math Hackathon, and 11 teens bravely taking on the Python and AI challenges as they debugged code, solved tough problems, collaborated with new friends, and discovered just how powerful their creativity and problemâsolving skills can be.weâre excited
The Eco Heroes Hackathon, was amazing and we are glad our learners had an opportunity to participate and code for a greener tomorrow.
Thank you @learningsprouts_ for the invite.
