Time for a post that felt hard to make, but has been on my mind for several days now.
For my entire career I had a hard time fully connecting to the “bass music / dubstep” scene. I always had supporting people here and there and from the very beginning artists like
@samplifire ,
@mvrdauk ,
@tooqoiet ,
@lordswan3x and many more showed me love as friends.
But despite that, I often felt like the odd one out.
My music was always darker. Stranger. Sometimes maybe a bit too dark to really fit into the picture of the dubstep realm.
That feeling is actually one of the reasons why I started Crowsnest Audio in the first place. I wanted to create a home for people who never felt like they fully fit somewhere else. Ironically my real home
@serious.mischief is the heart and soul of the label since a few years 🖤
Over the years a lot has changed. I experimented a lot musically, and thanks to
@ghostkiddo and
@dennismoll666 I slowly found my way into a scene that feels much closer to home. A scene that feels incredibly like-minded.
While pushing my sound more into a metal direction, working on my own vocals, releaseing "A King's Decapitation" and collaborating with artists like Mirar and David from Signs Of The Swarm, I started to notice something.
There is suddenly a lot more attention on what I’m doing.
More people discovering the project, more conversations happening, more support from places I never expected like Metal Press and incredible Playlistings like "All New Metal", "Deathcore" and even the Modern Metal playlist by
@nik.nocturnal
That realization felt off at first and I felt betrayed by a scene that i fundamentally inspired with my sound.
There absolutely was support , and I will always be grateful for the people who believed in what I was doing from the very beginning.
But it feels like I’m finally speaking a language that more people understand or... I went to the place where people understand the language I'm speaking. Does that make sense? lol
So whether you’ve been here for years or just recently found this project through the newer releases:
thank you for being part of it. 🖤
