☰ AN EVENING WITH MARTHA GRAHAM ☰ On Monday 20 April Dance and Classical Music students present a special performance at Theater Zuidplein: An Evening with Martha Graham. The evening marks the closing of the orchestral season and brings together an intensive collaboration between the Dance and Classical Music departments on one stage.
At the heart of the programme is the work of pioneering modern dance figure Martha Graham. In celebration of the centenary of the Martha Graham Dance Company, a selection of her iconic repertoire will be performed by Codarts dance students, accompanied by the Codarts Symphony Orchestra.

☰ ERASMUS JAZZ PRIZE 2026 RECAP ☰ On 8 March 2026, LantarenVenster Rotterdam set the stage for an unforgettable final of the Erasmus Jazz Prize, celebrating its 30th edition and a new generation of jazz talent. Bassist and composer Vishal Singh Rebari was awarded the Erasmus Jazz Prize 2026 with his V.S.R. Quintet, impressing the jury with strong compositions, dynamic interplay and a distinctive sound.
These were the finalists of this year’s Erasmus Jazz Prize:

☰ CODARTS ALUMNI AT THE EDISON AWARDS ☰ Several Codarts alumni were recognised at the Edison Pop Awards 2026, which were presented on 9 March at the AFAS Theater in Leusden. Min Taka was nominated in the Alternative category, while Froukje won an Edison together with S10 for their collaborative EP Frok en Stien.
Producer Julian Vahle (Pop alumnus) was also involved in the success of Roxy Dekker, and trumpeter Jan van Duikeren (Classical Music & Jazz alumnus) contributed as a member of DI-RECT. Congratulations to all!

☰ JARNO’S ROAD TO THE WORLD STAGE ☰ Circus artist Jarno Polhuijs was recently featured in Dutch newspaper AD, sharing his journey from discovering circus as a teenager to performing on stages around the world.
Early on, Codarts Circus Arts invited him to join the Talentenklas, a programme where young talents prepare for the professional circus programme. After this trajectory, Jarno continued his studies in the Codarts Circus Arts programme in Rotterdam, where he further developed his artistic practice.
Today he travels internationally with his teeterboard act, performing in major productions and arenas worldwide. His work even earned silver at the prestigious Circus Festival of Monte Carlo, one of the highest honours in the circus world.
