This month, we had a little chat with label boss @laurent_garnier , who pulls back the curtain a bit on what it takes to get a track signed to COD3 QR. He explained that the “A&R Department” here is led by feeling, not numbers. Every track on the label is one he could play somewhere in his own sets, and he could not care less if it sells or if the artist has a big profile. He also dropped a hint about which COD3 QR artist is up to the plate next. Said artist is on our latest release, which just dropped, and we’re also highlighting 5 tracks from his current rotation in the newsletter. Our next COD3 QR newsletter steps away from the decks and into the studio, this time we’re spotlighting the man behind the visuals, @clementlaurentin . Clément is the graphic designer responsible for every piece of release artwork COD3 QR has put out, from the original 8-bit logo built around the QR code, to the refined identity the label carries today. A graduate of the prestigious Boulle School in Paris, his work spans record sleeves, murals, collector bottles, and enamel pieces, all while staying rooted in a visual language shaped by Cubism, Russian Constructivism, and decades of vinyl collecting. He’s also a founding-era member of artist collective @9emeconcept , a brotherhood of painters, graffiti artists, tattooers, and illustrators that’s been running since 1989. With 30 years of production and DJing under his belt, @roccorodamaal belongs to the elite circle of House innovators who continue to influence the scene, having played alongside and remixed some of the best in the industry. He is joined by label regular @dclviii_ofc , a veteran producer who embodies a deep techno approach with Detroit influences and a Garnier touch, adding subtle progression and melody. Rounding out the release is Irishman @ianodonovan_music , who has been forging his signature sound with emotive influences spanning house, techno, and electro since 2010, with releases having graced many respected labels. Our next COD3 QR newsletter takes a deep dive into the world of label mainstay, @carlos_nilmmns . Carlos has been a key part of the family for years, most recently dropping the sun-drenched ‘Riviera’ last autumn—a track that evolved the jazzy, sophisticated sound of his earlier contribution, ‘True People’, and even surprised the producer himself with its wide-reaching genre support. With a rich history dating back to the early 2000s and a sound influenced by the traditions of Chicago and Detroit, his productions have earned heavy rotation from heavyweights like DJ Rolando, Kenny Dope, and youANDme, alongside constant support from Laurent Garnier. Looking ahead, we have a string of major Carlos Nilmmns releases peppered throughout 2026 on COD3 QR, plus his upcoming work on International Deejay Gigolos and Ornaments.
