So fortunate to return for another appearance on @wgbh Boston Public Radio, with Jim Braude and Margery Eagan on Halloween last Friday! The segment was live-streamed on YouTube and in front of a live audience at the Newsfeed Cafe. We squeezed a ton into the short segment, including chocolate tastings featuring local, woman-owned shops (and chocolate tour and event partners) @bittersweetviolet of the South End, @cacaoboston of the South End, Financial District, and Newton Highlands, and @graemroasters of Concord. We also talked upcoming Cocoa Beantown programs, including our āSuper Chocoholicā tour on November 15th to benefit the Greater Boston Food Bank, and our collaboration with @cacaolifeinternational on their next Peru eco-adventure trip in July 2026. weāre also actively taking bookings for all your corporate holiday events and any celebrations or gatherings that would like a custom, bespoke, guided craft chocolate tasting experience! Thanks to the hosts and to the fabulous crew at Boston Public Radio that makes it so very easy to talk chocolate live on air to thousands of listeners!
Thanks to all those folks who listened to our segment on Friday afternoon on Boston Public Radio with Jim and Margery. We were thrilled to help introduce folks to some of our fabulous Massachusetts makers!

What more could possibly be said about the beautiful experience that was the debut of Showcolat? The sense of community and camaraderie, the togetherness, the kindnesses and shared joy. What a wonderful world that the craft chocolate community embodies--one of trust and advocacy, as well as support and encouragement for bigger, bolder dreams. Powerful stuff from beautiful humans, that happen to make and believe in chocolate that is good and does good.

Cocoa Beantown, a chocolate tasting events and education company, blends a unique style of storytelling with an accessible approach to food education that ushers audiences toward a new appreciation of chocolate while learning about its greater historical, geographical, scientific, or cultural context. Cocoa Beantown chocolate events aim to put more folks in touch with high quality, craft chocolate made with ethically sourced cacao, and the makers who make those products with intention, all while utilizing the natural enthusiasm that chocolate provokes to create exciting new experiences for guests and attendees that helps build personal connection through shared experiences based on a common love.
While the connection between Valentineās Day and chocolate is clear through the modern traditions associated with celebrating the holiday, the idea of adults sharing chocolate socially dates all the way back to the mid 1600s when adults would enjoy drinking chocolate as a beverage choice, just as commonly as coffee or tea. Today, Cocoa Beantownās events take many forms, whether it is casual chocolate tasting stations for programming space activations, guided tastings for team builders and private celebrations, chocolate tours where locals and visitors alike get to learn about Boston neighborhoods through the lens of chocolate, or our educational talks for schools, libraries and COAs.
