Making upcycled costumes for Trinidad carnival 2026. Also happened to get engaged to on the Savannah đź’Ť
Playing in mas bands has become so expensive and so unsustainable, instead I wanted to make something using waste and dead stock materials. Some of the items used to make this costume I had to buy new, like the wirebra, swimsuit material and some of the beading.
Total cost came up to around 500 TT about 50 pounds
Big thanks to @gio_the_wirebender , a trade that is fading away as bands source almost everything from China these days.
