We are looking for work that engages with the sport in the broadest sense: from its role in building community and identity to critical perspectives on commercialism, hero worship, and global equity.
Whether your work is a direct institutional critique or an exploration of the sport’s cultural footprint, we want to see your perspective.

Exhibition Dates: June 15 – July 19, 2026
Open to: All media (Painting, Sculpture, Performance, Digital, etc.)

CoCA ShowWalls, @cocaseattle , and The Collins Pub, @collinspubseattle have an extraordinarily painterly show on exhibit from NOW through the end of June with CoCA member Artist Teresa Spellman Gamble, @pacificartexpressions
“When Irish Eyes Remember” encapsulates dialogue, time, and memory in an abstract aesthetic of presence and purpose.
The title reflects both lineage and lens—an Irish inheritance of memory, resilience, and reverence for what lingers. These works invite a slower looking, much like sharing a glass of wine: revealing themselves over time, deepening with each return. They are not fixed narratives, but evolving impressions—of place, of memory, of self.
Teresa will be in residence at The Collins Pub this 1st Thursday from 5:00-7:00 for ArtWalk.
Start your ArtWalk off with a drink and a chat with the artist to learn even more about the title of the show, and (hint) maybe even try a glass of Spellman Gamble’s very own heritage vino!

CoCA CALL FOR ART
The World is Watching:
Futbol/Soccer Abstract World Cup Pop-Up Art Shows
Futbol/soccer is exciting and celebrates discourse on all aspects of the game.
Art can express all these things. Consider the dark side of futbol/soccer and “Yes,” FIFA and soccer deserve critiquing.
Does your passion for the sport still increase despite this?
Do you enjoy making art that pushes the boundaries? Are you still looking forward to World Cup 2026? There maybe some of you who just work on the periphery of the sport and don’t share a common passion for the game, that’s okay.
You should all consider applying and submitting your art for this opportunity, where the world comes together to celebrate the game every four years.
Conceptual art and satire are strongly encouraged.

Coca ShowWalls, @cocaseattle and Gary Manuel Salon, @garymanuel are excited to announce an all new 3 month showing of “GATE” a collection of gorgeously rich and ephemeral works by CoCA member artist Jay Stoneking, @jaystonekingart
“Each piece begins as an invitation. Summons, from another place, another space. Stepping through the gate, I wander in-betweens of endless, ethereal skies and moody, abyssal hallways, then bind the ephemeral magic of these quiet sacred spaces to their paintings through the play of light and the glint of gold.”
Please feel free to visit “GATE” at the Gary Manuel Salon, 528 2nd Ave, Seattle, WA 98104, Tuesday through Saturday, 8am-6pm from May through July.

cocaseattle CoCA ShowWalls, @cocaseattle and Bulldog News, @bulldog_news are excited to share the elegant works of CoCA member Artist Shelly Tiemeyer, @shellytiemeyerart in her April showing of “The Divine Feminine”
Evocative, true, ephemeral... Shelly Tiemeyer’s works will be on the scene at Bulldog News for the next couple of weeks, so don’t miss a chance to see them in person while you enjoy a favorite pastry and a magazine with an excellently prepared espresso.
U DISTRICT ART WALK IS THIS FRIDAY THE 17th!
“With all of painting there is waiting. There is nothingness.
And yet, something emerges. Eventually. Mercifully. Just when you least expect it. Only to disappear again. Into the darkness. Until the next moment. And the next.
We must all bear the grief that there is no arrival. Only being found over and over again. This type of living is an act of surrender. It is an act of discovery that is counter culture to the systems that seek to define. Surrender leads us to ourselves and leads us to each other.”

cocaseattle cocaseattle @cocaseattle and The Collins Pub @collinspubseattle are excited to present an all new showing of symbolization and regeneration trom CoCA Member Artist;
Aysenur Saral @aysenursaral
“ENCOUNTERING OF DARKNESS AND BRIGHTNESS” showcases Saral’s abstract interpretations of mythological chaos and balance.
Stop by from 5-8 p.m for First Thursday ArtWalk in Historic Pioneer Square. TONIGHT!!! April 2nd
“Inspired by mythological subject that explain there was a chaos all at the beginning while brightness and darkness overpower each other.
In mythology, everything in the universe was set up in balance against imbalance; e.g. darkness in chaos, brightness to renewal, and birth to death.
When the universe was existing, the darkness and brightness were on fight each other in chaos. The universe and life has been within this vicious cycle of contrasts.

KNOCK ON WOOD - The broad range and endless imagination of wood artists in the Pacific Northwest is abundantly evident in Center on Contemporary Art’s new group exhibition in Pioneer Square. Notwithstanding the region’s strong identity as a center for glass art, wood extends farther into the past with a rich indigenous tradition (Salish and beyond). Curated by L. Kelly Lyles, Knock on Wood features the work of 34 artists from around the region.
The second opening reception on this First Thursday, April 2nd, is free to attend, with support from 4culture’s Public Free Access grant.
The exhibition’s title refers to the superstition, perhaps first used by the Celts, that knocking on trees might wake the spirits inside, thus providing protection or scaring away evil spirits. Curatorial advisor and artist Joel Colvos recognizes how wood is “a material of paradox: both common and precious, temporary yet long-lasting and remarkably pliable,” in essence a metaphor for the creative process. Perhaps surprisingly (or not!), Knock on Wood includes many women artists in contrast to the stereotypes of lumberjacks or craftsmen.
Exhibiton runs March 5th-April 25th
