Living in Colorado has many perks and getting to take advantage of some of them by completing the Colorado 9s with @mjames2 was a great experience! 9 ski runs, 9 holes of golf, and 9 innings of baseball in the same day isn’t something accessible in everyone’s back yard and on our 2nd attempt we made it happen! Oh and we added in 9 beers for good measure. Someone at Coors Field did finish 9 hot dogs while we were there and that seems like a challenge I don’t need to complete.
Random assortment of photos from another great mountain weekend. This time we explored around the collegiate peaks area! Also, Peyto got more snow at about 13,000ft.
On a trip through the Douro Valley recently we got to see first hand the vineyards that produce an incredible range of wines from Tawny ports to DOC Douro whites. While some of these wines mature a bit down the river in Porto, the steep valley has some remarkable terrain to grow grapes on. A few of vineyards look more like what I’ve seen in the past, but most have single rows, terraced into the earth and all harvested by hand. This growing area will reach up to 125F in the summer, so I’m really glad we were visiting in April!
Using locally grown grain at Cohesion was always an important part of supporting a local agricultural network when we could. Getting out into the fields to learn more about #thesweetness we use in our beers was informative and awesome to connect more to this raw material! Thanks to @ceschooley for giving us a tour of the barley fields that will make our beer!
Obsessed with the new mural @olivemoya did recently in our shared hallways at the brewery! I’ve always loved her color scheme and I’m super excited to see this mural every day!
Last day in the brewing boots full time for a few months. Been working on a project with @wiedelmlarkin for a while now and I’m so excited to reveal the details soon!
