At Coast 4C, our integrated marine protected area (iMPA) model supports seaweed farmers while safeguarding biodiversity. By zoning just 5% for regenerative seaweed farming, we reduce pressure on fishing and create long-term community and ecological resilience.
Regenerative seaweed isn’t just sustainable it’s a strategy for thriving coasts.

By looking after the waters that support them, Coast 4C’s seaweed farmers are building a future where both people and nature can thrive.
An idea that shows fixing our climate and helping communities grow goes hand in hand.
Follow us to see more community-driven solutions making a real difference.
Seaweed CAN help heal the ocean, and at Coast 4C we're about making sure that tropical red seaweeds are being done right, for Communities, Commerce, Conservation and Climate.
Our model ensures that:
It restores biodiversity.
It increases coastal resilience.
It is an investible proposition.
And that it works with nature, not against it.
The science is clear. The opportunity is real.
Now it’s about scale.

Reporting back from a fantastic week at London Climate Action Week #LCAW building collaborations to scale innovative impact solutions, with a huge amount of energy, urgency and optimism! A massive #THANKYOU to @earthshotprize and @bloombergdotorg
@Coast4C is on track to double the support it offers farmers, going from 286 to 540 seaweed farms over the coming three months, benefiting 3,000 people. Its support will enhance coastal ecosystems and provide stable incomes for fishing communities.
Coast 4C’s expansion is part of its mission to transform seaweed farming in the Philippines, by restoring coastal biodiversity while improving livelihoods.
The group recently secured $200,000 in new debt financing to scale its sustainable seaweed operations that will help smallholder farmers to build credit histories and access tailored loans, insurance, and fair prices. These services were previously unavailable to many in remote communities.
“It was the start of a beautiful relationship.”
Nick and Mads of @coast4C share how their paths crossed and merged into one mission: protecting our oceans and supporting coastal communities.

This is ocean protection.
Not just hectares saved. Lives and livelihoods supported.
At this years UN Ocean Conference begins, Coast 4C is showing how seaweed farming and community-led iMPAs are delivering real progress on the Sustainable Development Goals.
Coastal communities are the heart of the global seaweed industry, supplying ingredients for food, cosmetics, medicine, pet food, household products and even climate solutions. At Coast 4C, we work directly with these farmers, helping them grow more, earn more, and protect the ocean at the same time.
Stronger farms, healthier oceans, better futures.
See the difference between traditional seaweed farming and farms in receipt of our GROW package.
Traditional methods often lead to sparse growth and disease. With GROW, farmers receive high-quality seedlings, materials, and support, resulting in healthier, more abundant seaweed.
It's not just about better seaweed, it's about stronger communities and a healthier ocean.
