ALLIES 2025 💙🤍 @rasaschoolofdance
This team were proof that with hard work and dedication you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. Being the first team from Dunedin to represent on the Hip Hop International stage was a major milestone in not only their individual dance journeys but the community that surrounds them! Honestly as a coach I couldn’t be prouder of them all, and I believe that the experiences this team had further ignited their passion for dance and the belief in themselves 🫂

ALLIES from @rasaschoolofdance at @hhi_nz 2025 💙🖤🤍
The beginning of the comp year started off with a bang! We went up to Auckland with the strongest team and set we’ve ever had and we exceeded our own expectations. Getting 6th in prelims and getting into finals along some of the best varsity crews in NZ was honestly surreal for us as coming from Dunedin, we always feel like the underdogs at these big comps. We went into finals with the attitude of genuinely being happy just to even be included in finals and were a bit shocked at the fact how close we were to have the opportunity to push further to top 5 for a spot in worlds but were excited by the challenge. When awards were getting announced and the 5th place crew got announced and it wasn’t us, we were content with the fact that we didn’t make it as just being in finals was a massive goal for us. But when they awarded us 4th place, which meant we jumped up to spots from prelims and qualified for HHI worlds in Arizona, to say we were excited was an understatement! This moment was a true testament to all our hard work and proof that dancers from Dunedin are WORLD CLASS.
As a coach my biggest dream was being able to qualify a team for worlds and now we’ve achieved that, it’s only up from here!
SEE YA IN ARIZONA HHI 🇺🇸
KUSTARD 2.0 2024 @otagogirlshigh ❤️
Started helping out with the hip hop crews at the OGHS by coaching one last year. This team was such a great energy and vibe together and really brought that raw energy out on stage every time they performed! Here’s a little snippet of the regionals set (this was my fave part) - at this comp they managed to get 3rd which which we were so excited by as for many of these dancers that was their first hip hop dance medal ever 🔥💪🏼
Also this name and red jackets were a reference to an iconic crew from OGHS back in the day called ‘KUSTARD’ which featured a group of powerhouses who dominated local and national competitions, this crew also featured my first ever crew coach Ashlyn (who was my idol when I was in high school) 🫶🏼
