Still not over this year’s Booths 😍🎨🛠️
Tartan creativity, ingenuity and dedication is unmatched and on full display during @cmucarnival ’s Booth — where student organizations build multi-story structures around a chosen theme over the span of six days.

What would a visit to Spring Carnivals of yesteryear be without booths?
They’ve taken on many shapes and themes over the years, but they’re always a favorite.
Today’s #CMUOverTime looks back at some great ones.
Slide 1: Zeta Beta Tau’s giant squid, waterfall, and ship all make this booth from 1982 quite the scene!
Slide 2: A literal behind-the-scenes look at some booths, from the General Photograph Collection.
Slide 3: A booth in 1959 allowed visitors to fire a “cannon” and activate a dunk tank.
Slide 4: Dunk tanks were apparently not uncommon booth activities in previous Carnivals! This one is from 1964. We’ll keep our annual Douse-A-Dean tradition instead, though.
Slide 5-6: Lots of games to be played at booths over the years! Slide 5 shows contestants in 1964, and slide 6 features a Carnival game from 1969.
Slide 7: Booth construction in 1996, from the Marketing and Communications Photographs Collection.
Slide 8: 1991’s Carnival theme was “From Cover to Cover,” leading to a number of incredible booths based on literary classics, like this windmill for Don Quixote from Sigma Tau Gamma.
Slide 9: The @spirit_cmu booth in 2003, where the Carnival theme was “Great Moments in History.”
