oldheads say what u want about skrillex but for many of us his scary monsters and nice sprites EP was the first ever edm project downloaded to our ipod touch. skrillex helped bring edm to so many people who grew up isolated in small towns with nothing to do but listen to it. i would 100% give myself tinnitus again blasting his music on my skullcandys at 7am to wake me up before school, or have my mom rush into my room because the "CALL 911 NOW" sample blasted at full volume on my ihome for the first time ever listening to equinox and she thought i was dying <3 omg i haven't even talked abt nina yet . yall already know how much i love nina. i started listening to her about a year before she dropped ILMC, which became one of my favorite albums of all time. everything she did with that project is everything i've always dreamed of making from the music to the visuals for cmputergrl, like that entire album is #CMPUTERCORE AF. what i would do to go back to last year and hear "f*ck my computer" for the first time again omfg. nina has already established herself as one of the most legendary women in edm music in under half a decade and setting an example for the next generation of artists to be more inclusive in the scene while still giving flowers to artists like skrillex who defined the sound of 2010s edm with her sound and lyrics. i remember listening to "girl edm" and for some reason just couldnt stop singing "all i ask of you" over the instrumental parts and i knew what i had to do, so here it is!!! hope u enjoy it as much as i do <3
