Opening day grouper season. Started off with zero current and a non existent bite.. headed offshore and got into endless schools of mahi, caught a jumbo free jumping sailfish. Then saw a 2-250lb blue marlin surfacing. As we are following him a giant sword breaches the surface and makes a big jump! We decided to try one more spot on our way in and found a trickle of north current, which produced this gorgeous gag grouper on a pilchard and spinning rod setup. Of course he didn’t hit the pinfish on the 50w we had down on the other gunnel.. either way my clients had a great day, box full of meat and were able to witness epicness offshore!
