The VRA is gutted, the struggle continues. There’s plenty to do and to fight for! @lynaevanee says Know the conditions to respond appropriately! @amandasmildtakes has advice on supporting local elections. @naacp_ldf says change comes from the people not the courts. We will keep fighting! Register to vote. Participate in your local elections. It really really matters!

We had the amazing, wonderful, and joyful @peterhreynolds for an author/illustrator talk at school today. The teachers, the librarian, and afterschool art @alamedaartsfun were possibly more excited to meet him than the students! Students asked great questions. He read “Ish” one of my most favorite books. I got to share my books with him. What a perfect school assembly! @thedotcentral #childrensbooks #childrensbookauthor #childrensbookillustrator

Thought we could use a little simple joy right now. 1st grade artists sketching color grids that will become paintings. We're learning about Stanley Whitney. Students decided to name their sketches after watching a video where he talks about the importance of names. Someone even decided to make a book about @stanley.whitney
