The best policies come from the voices of the community! At yesterday’s @NYCCouncil Stated meeting, I introduced a resolution to raise awareness about maternal mental health, & the measures our city and state should take to support mothers suffering with postpartum psychosis.

For far too long, 988 and other critical mental health resources have remained underutilized - due to stigma or the inaccessibility of services. Today, the @NYCCouncil passed my bill to enhance the service New Yorkers receive when utilizing the 988 Mental Health hotline.
We appreciate that the Administration has moved toward an approach championed by the Council that identifies savings and avoids raising property taxes or raiding reserves.
We have important work ahead to advance key priorities including affordability, public transit access, and investments in the services New Yorkers rely on every day.
Mothers are often the backbone of most families, providing nurturing care and guidance that lays the foundation for future generations. Yesterday, I joined the Flushing Chinese Business Association’s Mother’s Day Celebration to honor the matriarchs of our families and communities!

Last night, my staff attended APEC’s 50th Anniversary Green Gala. APEC is a gem of Eastern Queens that allows residents to truly connect with the beautiful nature and green spaces Eastern Queens offers. I am a proud supporter and partner of the impactful work they do in our district!
