Artist Spotlight: Christof Migone ✨
ZALUCKY presented his solo exhibition 𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘺 in 2017 and we are delighted to include his latest video work in our 10th anniversary exhibition.
Christof Migone is an artist, teacher, curator, and writer. He often works with language, voice, bodies, performance, intimacy, and endurance. Recent exhibitions, screenings, and performances include Temper (Span Time), curated by Sara Constant and Karie Liao, performed with Marla Hlady, presented by the Blackwood Gallery and the Music Gallery, P, LOOP Gallery, Seoul (2024), l’étranglement, Snow Storm, and seize me by the horns, performed with Alexandre St-Onge, LUFF, Lausanne, Switzerland (2023), Swan Song (with Marla Hlady), Produit Rien, Montréal (2023), and The Release (Into Motion), Au Kalme, Brussels, Belgium (2023). In 2006, the Galerie de l’UQAM in Montreal presented a mid-career survey of his work accompanied by a catalog entitled Trou. A book compiling his writings on sound art, Sonic Somatic: Performances of the Unsound Body was published in 2012 by Errant Bodies Press. He has been the recipient of commissions from the Tate Modern, Dazibao, Kunstradio, New Adventures in Sound Art, Radio Canada, New American Radio. He obtained an MFA from NSCAD in 1996 and a PhD from the Department of Performance Studies at the Tisch School of the Arts of New York University in 2007. He is currently curating a 12-year long event titled You And I Are Water Earth Fire Air Of Life And Death. He lives in Toronto and is an Associate Professor in the Department of Visual Arts at Western University in London, Ontario.
