Johannesburg became the epicentre of African music culture, as Afrobeats heavyweight Asake performed in South Africa for the first time. Presented by @afrofuture ’s newest live experience platform, Curated By Culture, at The Goldrush Dome, the landmark show marked a defining moment for both the artist and the platform’s continental ambitions.
More than a tour stop, the event doubled as the closing chapter of Asake’s Africa run, transforming the night into a celebratory homecoming. His performance unfolded as a carefully crafted cultural experience, featuring orchestral arrangements, the powerful harmonies of the Soweto Choir, and surprise guest appearances from Focalistic and Young Jonn - a symbolic meeting of Nigerian and South African hitmakers on one stage.
Designed as an immersive storytelling-led platform, Curated By Culture made its South African debut with an elevated production that complemented AfroFuture’s global festival legacy.
