First plotted portrait commission (outside of my innee circle of family and close friends) ! Benjamin Trancart - another french motion designer who is also a fan of Gil Scott Heron - asked me to create a 13x18cm portrait of him with my pen plotter, and that's what I came with :) There was a constraint in his brief ; I had to do a visual that was vertically splitted in two halves, where each half had to be colorized with a positive/négative treatment (because Benjamin wanted to put this artworks exactly at the intersection of 2 colors on his wall). For the rest, he gave me complete creative freedom and trusted me. I used the main photograph of one of his most famous album cover, and treated it 2 positive/negative halves in Photoshop. Then I used the @drawingbotv3 app to redraw the photo in a dense concentric spiral (that kind of reminds of vinyle records) centered on his head (which his like a circle on its own thanks to his afro hair cut), with smaller spiraling squiggles drawn along the main path, that creates the darker values and help distinguishing the portrait. These squiggles also remind of the afro hair so it was a nice touch too. Finally, I added a touch of vibrant fluo orange color in order to add contrast with the crystal blue Bic pen from @bic.create , by drawing an orange filled circle at the center of the head, reinforcing the "vinyle record" effect. Drawn with an @idrawpenplotter HSE machine from Uunatek. New white on black plotted portrait for my Iconic Portraits series : Jean-Michel Basquiat For this one, I chose a mix of patterns like scribe letters (that reminds of his own grapher painting style) and more geometric lines that kind of creates a huge city map (tried to give a sense of New York city, where he was living and working). These patterns are separated in little fragments called Voronoi Pattern, that aims at reminding of his collage style. Wait for it... Sorry if this one goes against some of you, but there are people who I just can't tolérante because of their acts. In this era where AI is everywhere, I still want to stand up against big tech compagnies and their ultra-rich CEOs, because THEY do have the choice to put the brakes and put a stop to all this nonsense, while we DON'T have the choice... So yeah... This is just one single example of what I think about such 💩 people. Well, at least, I try my best to not use generative AI, and it becomes very difficult nowadays because you'll find AI based features everywhere, from Adobe Products to 3D software, Image/Video generators and Vide coding tools. Unfortunately, I notice that some people THRILL in this era... While a lot of others, lie me, are just so disappointed with this system, it's a really difficult time for true artiste. Don't hesitate to re-share ; the more well shout against them, the more out voice may impact our future.

Continuing my iconic portraits series with a tribute to one of the best TV shows ever created : Breaking Bad ! "Walter White" has been plotted with white ink (see what I did here?) onto a Fabriano Black A3 paper sheet, thanks to my @idrawpenplotter HSE machine. If you look closely at the details, you can guess a kind of chemical molecular structure made of hexagons arranged in a honeycomb distribution, with single or double bonds between H3, C and N elements (3 chemical elements that constitute the real methamphetamine molecule in real life!)
