Shifting gears now into pure painting. I collect packaging/labels. It started with cigarette packages and has expanded into food, hardware, automotive, etc. Not manically, but casually, when something catches my eye in a store, or shared with me by friends. The mundane really appeals to me, I find beauty in practical things such as screw bags and boxes. And I love the directness. Looking at some food packages on display at my house, a friend asked if it was art. Yes, I find art in these label designs, so now I'm sharing that appreciation for packaging in the form of paintings.
