The kiddos have been putting in the work!
Since launching the program in October, their progress has been incredible. They’re learning to listen, play safely, and enjoy the game together. There are raw emotions at times. Frustration, tears, and all the messy parts of learning. But that’s how growth happens. We embrace the chaos and shape it into order.
Proud of our little army of scrappers 🥷

Yesterday, we promoted our first black belt at GGT — over a decade of scrapping and 15 years of friendship with this chump.
My bro went from nerdy RuneScape hacker to the BEST grappling coach in the land (and it’s not even close).
Here’s to many more 🥂

A week of high-level training at @standardjiujitsu 📸
The squad spent time in Rockville, Maryland, sharpening skills with @gdsouders and his team. Their competitors are rock solid, the training logic is sound, and the culture is contagious.
An experience every serious grappling coach should have. Can’t recommend it enough.
Until next time 🫡

Learn to shoot double legs like @alliseeisgold 🥇
Note: This game is NOT for beginners and assumes you’ve already developed the fundamental skills of making connections, maintaining them, and destabilizing your opponent. These examples are not exhaustive; tailor your games to the skill level, strengths, and weaknesses of your training partners. Here are 3 games to enhance the skills needed for a double leg takedown:
Game 1: Maintain the Double Leg Position
Objective: Start in the double leg position and hold it as long as possible.
Task Focus: Keep arms connected around the legs, head above hips, and close to your partner.
Constraints: No takedowns.
Game 2: Destabilize and Beat the Head & Hands
Objective: Close the distance and grab the back of the knees after clearing head and hands.
Task Focus: Make connections to off-balance your opponent, dip your head below theirs, and clear arms by moving elbows across or away from the body.
Constraints: No takedowns, no submissions.
Game 3: Close Distance and Lock Hands Around Both Legs
Objective: Close distance, lock hands around both legs, or wrap them, ending in the starting position of Game 1.
Task Focus: Same as Game 2.
Constraints: No takedowns, no submissions.
