I won the friend lottery about 12 years ago when this beautiful woman lived on my floor at @coloradostateuniversity . Our friendship has taken us to different coasts together, living abroad individually, and now back in Colorado where it all started. There and back again. Iām fortunate to have had this formidable female in my life during serious periods of growth for the both of us.
In September 2019, she married the most wonderful man at the courthouse in Brooklyn (and I could write an entire post about Brandon as well) and today we finally get to celebrate their year and a half of marriage!
I love you both so much and Iām so touched to be a part of this day. š„³š„°

Third timeās a charm! After going into @vitalantco twice and having to be turned away both times due to a heat rash on my arm, I finally got to donate blood today! I only tell this tidbit to showcase how small deterrents shouldnāt keep you from donating. Safety is key. Listen to professionals.
Right now there is a dire shortage of blood supply in our nation and itās essential for you to donate if you are able to. This weekend I got out to #runwithmaud but Stella, my brotherās dog, had something else in mind. Our run turned into short sprints so she could stop and smell the flowers or try to track the deer in the open space.
During these moments of rest I chose to think of all of the things I do where my race doesnāt play a factor. And the list is long. The color of my skin brings me a level of security and safety, while it does the opposite for so many of my friends.
Iām heartbroken that the world still has many people who bring this hatred and fear out into society with them. Iām grateful there are many other people who see the world differently and will fight for everyone. But most of all Iām still hurt this is reality.
We can do better. We can help each other. We can fight for justice. We can love each other.
Another #latergram in celebration of #singleticketsweek. @hadestown was my favorite musical I have seen since I moved here. The music is unexpected and enchanting. The story is moving and surprising even if you know the myth already. Iām so happy I got to see this show and I hope I can see it again sometime.
This is technically a #latergram since I saw the 10:00pm showing on Monday night...but I am still laughing over this show. I was cheering and screaming at @freestylelovesupreme . @ucancallmesis absolutely brought down the the house when they brought an audience member up onstage and the whole production was a blast. Itās a limited run for 16 weeks so get your tickets before they sell out. #singleticketsweek
My mom is one of the best people I know. Sheās empathetic, supportive, courageous, funny, honest, strong, and incredibly thoughtful. Each day I find myself acting more like her and I wouldnāt want to be any other way.

Three years ago today I flew to NYC on a last minute trip to see the original cast of Hamilton on Broadway. It was an experience I will never forget. Little did I know, a few years later I would be working six blocks from that theatre.
The transition to New York has been far from easy, but Iām grateful that I get to do it. Thank you to all of my friends and family who have been there for me, I canāt thank you all enough.
Iām looking forward to where I will be sitting three years from now.
