For the past four years, I’ve been artistic director of In extenso, a nonprofit art space in Clermont-Ferrand, and editor-in-chief of La belle revue. When I arrived, the organization was on the verge of closing. We fought hard to keep it alive - and since then, we’ve collaborated with around 450 artists and art workers, with less than €80K a year in public funding and only two (underpaid) positions.
This year, potential budget cuts threaten our projects, our jobs, and the freelancers we work with. Without emergency support, we risk closing.
Next year marks In extenso’s 25th anniversary. I want us to make it there - and beyond.
