What I wish most of all is that I wish you lived long enough to see me break the cycle that was created in you by those who cast judgment and their misery upon you your whole life, as they did mine, and as you did to me sometimes. It’s all you knew, but somehow I managed to walk away without addiction, without pregnancy, without marriage to someone I didn’t love, and without having to throw my identity away. So thank you, Mom. I will be dancing for you tonight, my goth gay mom. I wish I wasn’t so scared of you before you died.

As of last night I am officially signed for an amazing lease and I’m Brooklyn bound, baby! Dance Movement Therapy is a real thing recommended for autistic people, so whenever people get shocked when autistic people like nightlife it shows how little they know about the benefits of movement and nonverbal connection for someone who struggles with regulating their nervous system and talking to people. This isn’t just for autistic people either of course but it’s helpful for autism symptoms that can be debilitating when not accommodated regularly.

A #wip of a colored pencil piece I started today. I love parallel play with other artists it’s the best! My creative energy is coming back and I’m really happy about it; I finally feel like I can make art again without it being forced… and it’s all in good timing, given that I’m moving back to the east coast very very soon!
Lovely little WIP doodle number from Cicada Fest last Friday! I am about 5-6 weeks away from being back in Jersey and NYC permanently, and I can’t wait to return to where I felt the most at home.
