Famously Imported from South America by Horticulturalist Kate Sessions, (circa 1892) The Jacaranda Mimosifolia Tree was first planted in Balboa Park, San Diego Ca. & soon after that with a deal done through the City of San Diego, Kate was gifted 30Acres of land within Balboa Park in exchange for planting 100 Trees a year around the county. The Jacaranda is now considered a signature Tree of San Diego and is widely found throughout Los Angeles & Orange County where it became a staple of the urban landscape, especially in the early summer as seen today. #jacaranda #katesessions #horticulturalist #botany #plantsofinstagram
