having a career as a musician is definitely a long and patient road. I’ve been very inspired in this new era of pushing myself to write better and more deeply connecting songs. it feels like this is just the beginning.

hi again. I realize it’s been a while. I guess I haven’t really felt like making music, and for this season, I think that’s okay. it feels weird though, just kinda taking a rest on this thing that’s been nearly 10 years in the making now. it feels like I shouldn’t be allowed to stop but if I’m honest, this little break has been great. I’m living life. it’s been a weird thing to not be thinking about posting on socials every day or obsessing over the next thing I’m going to do. I’ve made a few things generally just for fun but I kinda either burnt out or just fell out of love and felt like it would be wrong to try creating much in this state. there are a few things on the horizon which I am genuinely excited about but I’m feeling really happy with the CloudNone story arc and it feels weird to type this out but if it were to be the end, I’d be so happy with the story that I was able to tell over these years. I don’t think this is the end but I’m just at a resting place, full of gratitude for this season of life. for the first time since I started the project, I genuinely dont know what’s next for me, for CloudNone. maybe it’s something else entirely, but I just want to say that I’m doing well and sense that I’m entering a new chapter of life and I don’t know what the next one fully looks like yet.

can’t believe LOST TAPES has been out for a week already! It’s about to pass 100k streams on Spotify and I’m so honored to hit that number in the first week with no label or playlist support. I kinda just dropped this one, huh??
now that it’s out, I wanted to begin sharing some bts on some of the songs. this is one of my favourite processes. I have a Yamaha CP-70 (piano) which I leave the lid open. It’s from the late 70’s and there’s ironically a little spot which is perfect for setting an iPhone down (see the video). I’m not very good at playing the piano but I can feel out the chords I’d like to record and then I cut them up in Ableton after the fact. Here’s a short snippet of me doing just that on ‘Asleep In Ohio’.
just a reminder that you’re not limited by skill, but by creativity.

feels pretty surreal to say these songs are out now.
there are too many stories to tell, and I will tell them all, or as many as I can at some point, but for now, it’s just crazy to me that they’re out.
these span all the eras of CloudNone and therefore feel incredibly special to me.
memories of living in Ohio.
memories of the pandemic.
making music with my cat Sevie on my lap, not knowing it was his last day.
again, channeling the depths of my emotion into music the day and weeks after he passed.
this album/mixtape/whatever you want to call it contains multitudes, and each one of these songs represents a moment in my life, and in the life of CloudNone.
the goal wasn’t to set out to make something polished, refined, or forward-thinking but rather to give an honest look backward and pull from the eras which have built me. this is an acknowledgment that not every great idea lives to see the light of day, but then asking the question ‘what if some of those things were resurrected and given a new chance at life’.
I’m forever grateful to my patreon group (for many things), but the truth is that they curated this album. if not for their involvement, this specific track list could have gone many different ways, but I think as a testament to their appreciation for this music, they knew best and I love that we could create this together.

LOST TAPES began as I collected every single one of the 128 unreleased demos I created between 2017-2025.
I narrowed the 128 down to my fav 50.
I shared the 50 with my Patreon in March and invited people to vote on their 15 favorites.
I selflessly accepted the top 15 community votes and added in 3 of my personal favourites and strung it all together into a mixtape.
18 songs, 45 minutes of seamless music spanning a variety of genres has been REBIRTHed and given a second chance.
