“Fourteenth”
We are currently designing a linear house situated on the Bellerine Peninsula, Victoria
Fourteenth sits under a row of Golden Cypress overlooking a golf course.
The site presented an opportunity to delve into the connection between ecology and industry. We carved into the landscape to create space and then distributed the excavated soil across the site. We then placed an object almost like a piece of apparatus above this recast ground plane. This stretched horizontal form is split and cranked along its length to provide various spaces and views.
Planning Permit pending.
I'm proud to share the news that Riley Kilkenny-Jones, an occasional contractor at Cloud Architecture, has been honoured with the prestigious Denton Corker Marshall Award for outstanding design at The University of Melbourne's 2023 Dean's Honours Award.

As intended we recently sold Fleming Park House. Designed and owner-built by @cloud__achitecure with help from many others between 2017 and 2023 the upside down terrace house provided accommodation for my family of 7 people in highly adaptable spaces that teamed with natural light and ample cross ventilation.
The architecture explored the tectonics of assemblage and used off-the-shelf components that you can buy from any hardware store. This approach kept the cost down and extracted broad issues around much needed flexibility - loose fit housing that provided us with greater diversity in accommodation that will continue to evolve with the new owners.
Fleming Park House is located on the traditional lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation

I have some exciting news to share with you. Fleming Park House is a nominee for the ArchDaily 2022 Building of the Year Awards.
I have no idea how they determine who is nominated - I assume all buildings they publish in the year are nominated.
Those of you in the know will understand that Fleming Park House is an underdog in this international promotion.
But hell who doesn't love an #underdog!

The Kyabram District Hospital is the primary health facility servicing the town of Kyabram and surrounding areas in the Goulburn River Area in Victoria, Australia.
In addition to providing a broad suite of health services, it is a building of considerable civic importance. Our Kyabram Hospital project formed the renewal of a key section of the hospital and provided an exciting platform to create a sense of place and building that supports the delivery of efficient, cutting edge health care and a positive experience for staff, patients and visitors.

Now that Fleming Park House is complete we have headed back out into our COVID world!
To help us do this we developed the concept of the POP-UP/POP-IN architectural studio. You can walk in anytime and have a chat with us about your project, ideas or anything really.
We were lucky enough to grab the popular ex dine in space of the very well known Dench Bakery in Scotchmer Street, North Fitzroy.

Fleming Park House sits the living areas above the bedrooms creating uninterrupted views of the park and beyond. Built for $3K a sq. metre the small footprint is simple, sustainable and very flexible for our family of 7. This house tests the many ideas that Cloud Architecture are adopting in our projects. .
