AVENIR at the 25th International Adana Theater Festival (TR)
The huge crow created an atmosphere that was both powerful and deeply moving.
Since 2011, this was the fifth time we had the honour of performing in Adana for this amazing audience.
The journey continues, as Avenir will travel on to meet new audiences, with upcoming performances including Antalya and beyond.

Our latest performance, Avenir, stays true to what Close-Act is known for: immersive, interactive theatre that unfolds in and above the audience. Yet Avenir stands apart. It is unlike anything we’ve created before.
This light and puppet spectacle, brought to life by actors, dancers, a singer, and a team of puppeteers, represents an entirely new chapter for our company. Developed through the collaboration of both new talents and seasoned performers, Avenir is the result of a tremendous collective effort. We are deeply proud of our team, who have shaped this production into what it is today.

PLANT AN OLIVE TREE
“We performed at Zwarte Cross with full awareness that its parent company is now owned by investment giant KKR — a firm known for profiting from systems of inequality and exploitation. In response, we chose to transform part of our fee into a gesture of solidarity: a donation to ‘Plant an Olive Tree’ in Palestine.
Art should not only move people, but also plant hope.”

AVENIR
The premiere @festivaldos
It starts with a dream. A creator at work. A professor, central to this story, designs new life. He creates a world full of mechanical creatures: beasts, birds, and mysterious figures with one eye. High above the ground, balancing on an immense ladder, he surveys his creations. The world he created seems perfect, but he longs for more.
The professor decides to create a final masterpiece. A creature with feelings, with a heart. He designs a robot girl and brings her to life with a jolt. His ultimate creation is born. His dream comes true. All his creatures obey him. Some creatures are frighteningly human. Streamlined figures, perfectly formed, but soulless and submissive. A colony of artificial human ants, marching in rhythmic precision.
One of his creations turns out to be a dark, unapproachable ruler. She gains more and more control over the other creatures and controls them from the back of a gigantic four-legged creature. All his creations start to turn against him more and more. What follows is a battle. Between control and freedom. Between the Creator and his creations.
RESTORE ORDER
He decides to restore order and switches off his creations one by one. He also must switch off his dream, his robot girl, with pain in his heart. Then she realizes that she no longer needs her creator.
A happy ending story for the future of Artificial Intelligence
