In many ways we describe photography, I like the expression - “art of subtraction”. One of the many ways to give more story and meaning to your subject is by isolating it. Removing visual distractions, and giving the subject space to exist. Composition plays a big role here. Tools like the rule of thirds help create balance and guide the viewer’s eye. Sometimes subtraction also means limiting colours, or choosing a cleaner background. Minimalism is one of my favourite ways of capturing the frame, because it lets intention speak louder than elements.
