As a phygital exhibition, EROTIKA III made tangible and virtual intertwine and dissolved once again the boundaries of art and its narrative. EROTIKA III is an immersive experience that defies convention and blurs the lines between physical reality and the metaverse.
With a simple device — in this case a tablet, you’re transported into a digital wonderland, where the artworks come to life in stunning detail, accessible to anyone, anywhere, at any time.
This dual existence is a testament to ClitSplash’s unwavering commitment to pushing boundaries and challenging the status quo. Since 2021, we’ve been entertaining the fusion of physical and digital realms, creating a revolution in how art is experienced and appreciated.
EROTIKA isn’t just an exhibition – it’s a bold statement, a revolutionary movement, and an invitation to reimagine what art can be. Through EROTIKA III, you’ll find a tapestry of diverse perspectives, each one a vibrant thread in the fabric of empowerment and liberation. From reclaiming patriarchal spaces to amplifying marginalized voices, our exhibition is a mark up to the power of art to provoke thought, inspire change, and foster connection.
For those who couldn’t make it to @unfair.milano , here’s what our magical booth looked like ✨
The project, designed by @cristina.valiani , aimed at emulating an adults-only cinema and placing visitors in a sort of voyeuristic position insofar they were experiencing the sexiest show on the metaverse sitting on cinema armchairs.
The whole structure was covered in red and black film, with red-light district leds. Upon entering into the immersive installation, visitors could either enjoy the show that our fantastic assistants Sveva and Alina would provide them or actively explore the metaverse exhibition by creating their own avatar and operating it.
🌹 EROTIKA III: meet Liz Capote, a cuban artist who infuses her artwork with dynamic elements of lines, space, movement, and repetition.
Capote’s artistic vision offers a poignant reflection on societal violence, particularly against women. Her bleeding feminine figures serve as conduits for visual narratives, conveying a sense of urgency and calamity surrounding the female reproductive system. Through subtle accents, she addresses sexist violence within the multifaceted context of feminism.
For EROTIKA III, Capote is presenting artworks meticulously crafted with frenetic yet calculated repetition, creating a space without discernible limits. Her works serve as reflective visual essays, portraying daily existence in a society where violence is both a political and moral reality.
🌹 EROTIKA III: meet Jason Ebeyer, a highly-regarded contemporary artist renowned globally for his distinct and evocative style. His art delves into themes of romanticism and eroticism, portraying elevated figures in nostalgic settings to convey the profound emotional depths of these themes with a blend of softness and intensity.
Ebeyer’s versatility shines through as he adeptly maneuvers across various mediums, creating both digital and physical artworks. His experimentation with techniques and materials adds layers of depth to his bold and striking aesthetic, earning him acclaim from critics and fans worldwide.
Throughout his illustrious career, Ebeyer has collaborated with esteemed figures such as Madonna, Steven Klein, Tom of Finland, and Vogue Italia, pushing artistic boundaries and solidifying his status as a leading figure in contemporary art.
For EROTIKA III, he presents two pieces from the body of work “Of Sticks and Mud” an exploration of intimacy and solitude. In these artworks, now on show in Melbourne, Australia, as well, the artist lead us through a bucolic, post-human dimension of erotism.
🌹 EROTIKA III: meet Harriet Davey, a 3D Artist and Art Director based in Berlin. Through the exploration of gender non-conforming virtual avatars, Davey restores and reclaims the bodies extorted by a male dominated gaming industry. Obsessed with questioning what it means to be fluid and human in a digital world: their work examines and interrogates the ugly and the beautiful; the maximum and the minimum; the online and the offline.
For EROTIKA III, Davey is presenting the artwork Cybergasm, the portrait of an intention, a feeling, something that is common to every species.
🌹 EROTIKA III: meet DDO, an italian lens-based artist, dedicated to photographic practice by exploring an instinctive approach, using long and multiple exposures she creates images tending toward the abstract. Her work speaks of the body, self-perception and dialogue with the inner being.
For EROTIKA III, she presents the work “Plastic”. “Like the wild beasts, she lives without a future. She inhabits only the present tense, a fugue of the continuous, a world of sensual immediacy as without hope as it is without despair.”
The body and plastic are opposites yet connected in this piece that speaks of the vacuity of the future and the intangibility of the present.
The body is interpreted as a sensory organ, isolated and alone in the texture of plastic that seems almost an alien membrane to flesh or skin.
🌹 EROTIKA III: meet cymoonv, a Cuban digital artist. She explores new subjectivities around the topics of self-perception, identity, sexual expression, and intimacy. She is interested in imagining post-natural bodies and worlds that transcend gender and binaries.
Her work has been exhibited internationally, including Miami Art Week, Refraction Festival, MMMAD (Madrid’s Urban Digital Art Festival), EROTIKA Festival, The Wrong Biennale, and diverse web3 projects.
For EROTIKA III, she presents Musa, the scientific name for banana tree. With this artwork, she explores the concept of ecosexuality and its understanding of the Earth and nature as our lover rather than the archetype of the provider and nurturing mother. It reinforces the figure of the muse not as a (re)source for inspiration but as a more-than-human erotic force present everywhere.
🌹EROTIKA III: meet Chaallka, Barcelona-based artist whose unique technique, influenced by his architectural studies, seamlessly merges 2D and 3D elements, primarily focusing on portraiture.
Chaallka thematic explorations delve into erotism questioning identity, life, and most importantly, ecology and transfeminism.
For EROTIKA III, Chaallka presents a thought-provoking work inspired by the complex relationship between animals and humans.
Through fictional narration, he questions the boundaries between human and animal, pondering the rights of transitional creatures and challenging perceptions of erotism and arousal. In this work he shares a surreal and almost mythological encounter with a bull, exploring themes of desire, ethics, and acceptance.
The narrative blurs lines between human and animal, inviting reflection on societal norms and personal boundaries.
🌹 EROTIKA III: meet Brenda Cabrera, a young artist from Havana. San Alejandro Academy and the University of Arts (ISA) graduate, she’s a visual artist and designer. Her artistic endeavors encompass drawing, painting, and NFT creations. Cabrera has established a universe of Prototypes: hybrid characters crafting their own coexistence policies within an autonomous ecosystem. This realm is fashioned from a reinterpretation of domestic politics, gender roles, identity construction in contemporary contexts, and the intricacies of virtual existence.
For EROTIKA III, Brenda Cabrera presents two captivating artworks: “Deflower Machine” and “La Muerte De Ofelia.” In contrast with the deep titles, both artworks follow Cabrera’s style and share pastel colours and clean visuals.
🌹 EROTIKA III: Meet Ava, a trans woman, model, actress, and director, who boldly asserts her skills. She’s carving a path in Cuban independent filmmaking, drawing from her experiences and challenging stereotypes. From her debut short film to her ambitions for future projects, Ava advocates for greater trans representation and encourages others to be bold in claiming their space in the arts.
Her short film, Un Tipo Como Tù,received acclaim at the 43rd International Festival of New Latin American Cinema, where she was also honored by the Latin American Female Filmmakers Observatory (OLAR).
For EROTIKA III Ava is presenting another short movie called Te Veo En Todas Partes, an obsession to refuse, a summer love and the regain of consciousness in autumn, a circular interpretation of life itself.
🌹 EROTIKA III: meet Ana María Caballero, a Colombian-American literary artist probing the constraints of biology on societal norms, unraveling idealized motherhood while challenging the glorification of sacrifice.
Caballero garners accolades including the Beverly International Prize, José Manuel Arango National Poetry Prize, and Steel Toe Books Poetry Prize. Notable nominations include Pulitzer Prize, Pushcart Prize, and Best of the Net.
Caballero’s oeuvre spans Mammal (Steel Tool Books, 2024); A Petit Mal (Black Spring Press, 2023); Tryst (Alexandria Publishing, 2022); mid-life (Finishing Line Press, 2016); Reverse Commute (Silver Birch Press, 2014); Entre domingo y domingo (Valparaíso Ediciones, 2023 and 2014).
Pulitzer Prize-finalist Campbell McGrath lauds Caballero’s work akin to Anne Carson for its rigorous exploration of language. Her poetry, showcased in museums like Wroclaw Contemporary Museum and Times Square, also sells as digital art at Sotheby’s and through live auctions.
As an artist-in-residence at GAZELL_iO, Glitch, Wild, and VERTICAL, Caballero reshapes language’s exhibition and transaction. A Forbes contributor on Web3 culture, she co-founded theVERSEverse, short-listed for Lumen Prize and Digital Innovation in Art Award.
For EROTIKA III, Caballero is presenting the artwork Vasectomy, questioning society’s disproportionate emphasis on the female body’s reproductive role and the complexities of birth control. Resistance emerges through poetic and artistic expression from her book, Mammal.
