When the toughest men on the planet make you something like this it can certainly make you think you did something right in life. The “paddle” is a tradition that has been carried since the Marine Raiders of WWII. I had the honor of attending a very special event yesterday to welcome the newest batch of Marine Raiders into the arsenal of America’s most lethal warfighters. And although I was tempted to feel a boost to my own ego for receiving such a beautiful work of handmade art that they spent making for me - it was humility more than anything else that I felt - to just be in the presence of the absolute best men in the world.
Congratulations to the newest Marine Raiders. You fellas are my heroes and it is because of each of you that I can rest easy at night - knowing you will go fwd and fight evil for us all.

So many like them … putting their lives on hold to travel here to help our community. How I wish I could be out there helping them. But just coming out to talk to them hopefully lets them know just how much we appreciate what they are doing for our community. Such good Americans. So many like them have come. Could not be more proud. Strong, Selfless, Sevice.
