You see this? Canada's weather is just barreling toward us like its last call on a Friday night bringing its cold temps, freezing our water pipes, and its artic wind blowing stuff everywhere. I don't mind if Canada's weather wants to visit its cousin in New England. But here you are down here trashing up the South and we ain't built for this. Most of us don't know temps can go that far below 32. It's like someone dared Canada's weather to come down here and mess with us. Y'all need to stop or we will send our weather up North come July. Two can play this game...

What I hold in my hands is not just a book. It's a promise kept. About a year before my dad passed away, he made me promise that I would write a book about his father, my grandfather. I must have written that first chapter half a dozen times, but nothing ever felt right. The words just wouldn’t come together. Before I could even complete that first chapter, my dad was gone. In the weight of the loss, I set the project aside. For reasons I can’t fully explain, I simply couldn’t bring myself to continue. Recently, a very dear friend encourged me with some sage advice. Reminding me of the power of keeping one's promise. "Try again." So I did. This time the words came and flowed through my fingers and onto the keyboard. It's been over five years now, since Pop took his final breath. I only wish I could tell him that I did it... I kept my promise. I hope that I made him proud. The book officially goes on sale January 27th. My birthday, ironically. I'd like to think that's a little nod and wink from somewhere beyond the clouds.

What my wife said vs. What I heard. She said: I'm tired of getting bit by these bugs. I heard: Screen-in the front porch. That's right, fellas. I speak woman. 🤷

Happy birthday to this beauty! She makes life worth living. She truly is my best friend, my partner in crime, my world travel partner, the ying to my yang. She advises me. Listens to me. Supports me. Cares for me. And unconditionally loves me. She is more than I deserve. Of all the sights I've seen in all the world this is the most breathtaking. I love you, babe. Happy xx birthday. 😁
