A Night of Song & Solidarity Clint Roberts at Blank Space 🌑🕯️✨ There is a specific kind of magic that happens when you strip a song down to its bones, especially when those songs are born from the heart of these mountains. We are so honored to invite you to an intimate acoustic set by Clint Roberts at Blank Space. While many know Clint as the driving force behind the haunting, orchestral sounds of Holler Choir, this evening offers a rare look at the songwriter in his purest form, just a guitar, a voice, and the stories that connect us. This show serves as a fundraiser for the Leona Wild Collective, with a portion proceeds going directly toward our mission of artist development, mutual aid, and keeping the creative pulse of our music community strong. Clint’s music has always been about the “unseen forces” that move us, and on June 18th, we use that music to fuel the collective care that sustains our local artists. Come share the room with us, lean into the stories, and help us keep the wild spirit of our community thriving. Buy your tickets here! Beer and wine included 🍷 /events/blankspaceavlllc/2180337

We’re headed out to Scotland in August with Scotland Folk Tours! Come traipse around with us, learn a bit about the history and culture, and listen to live music every night. And maybe drink some scotch. August 6-16, 2026 Link in bio or check out scotlandfolktours.com “The Emigrant” by John Masefield Going by Daly’s shanty I heard the boys within Dancing the Spanish hornpipe to Driscoll’s violin, I heard the sea-boots shaking the rough planks of the floor, But I was going westward, I hadn’t heart for more. All down the windy village the noise rang in my ears, Old sea-boots stamping, shuffling, it brought the bitter tears, The old tune piped and quavered, the lilts came clear and strong, But I was going westward, I couldn’t join the song. There were the grey stone houses, the night wind blowing keen, The hill-sides pale with moonlight, the young corn springing green, The hearth nooks lit and kindly, with dear friends good to see, But I was going westward, and the ship waited me

I love you, Grandmother! I'm glad you've found peace now. Thank you for helping me get started on this journey I chose 17 years ago. The tree that it has branched into started with your root, and I'll always have you to thank for that. I filmed this about three years ago, I knew that this would be one of the last times I saw her. My grandmothers name was Jackie, and before I was really in a rhythm of writing songs, she was giving me instruction in singing classical compositions and old timey show tunes. Jackie was an acclaimed singer in her day and has made a good deal of contribution to the legacy of Kentucky music. She spent many years touring performance arts halls across the country performing the pieces of her mentor and composer, John Jacob Niles. Niles has had many compositions that are relevant to the study of voice in classical music programs at universities and high school across the country. Famously songs like I Wonder As I Wander and Little Black Star. When he toured to perform his pieces, Jackie was his vocalist. I'm a little rusty here but I remember the pleasant challenge of jumping back into navigating her fluid interpretation of rhythm. For years she asked for me to come to Gainesville to perform with my act so she could see it. Last summer, I finally got to make good on giving that to her, and I'm so glad I did. RIP Jackie Roberts, thank you for everything.
