Is chalk dust unhealthy?
Chalk in itself is completely inert and likely does not react with anything in your body. That said, some (very) initial studies have shown that human lungs might react to the foreign particles entering, by retracting and thereby reducing their function. This doesnt have to have any long term effect, but it could reduce athletic ability and be more severe for certain individuals.

Some recent studies have also shown that high levels of rubber dust, originating from climbing shoes, are also present in gyms. We have little knowledge about the health effect of that, but we can say that our filters are very at good catching those aswell!
