Air quality is worsening in the US after decades of progress — and that’s before the current administration’s expansive rollback of Clean Air protections even kicks in.
The American Lung Association’s 2026 State of the Air just dropped. For almost half of Americans, their counties received an F for air quality.
Children, those living with existing illness, communities of color are breathing the worst of it.
