Methane abatement is a critical, yet underfinanced lever for achieving a 1.5ºC degree pathway. Our latest working paper evaluates how 10 major financial institutions are currently integrating methane into their transition plans and climate disclosures. The analysis suggests that quantifiable targets and improved risk management can help institutions better align with sustainable pathways and manage transition-related risks, but that there is still a long way to go to ensure methane abatement is full incorporated and implemented across transition planning.
