Transparent Plants Book encapsulates two years of experimentation with the visual and material relationship between plants and transparency.
The book features a Frosted Acrylic Cover secured by a Chicago Screw, with a 4 × 6 inch format that allows its pages to be rearranged or removed entirely, inviting readers to engage directly with the work.
Printed on heavy card stock for durability and manipulation. Each edition also includes a transparent Magnifying Glass and Screwdriver made to interact with the book.
The TP All Purpose Bag is crafted from recycled greenhouse materials that were set to be discarded. Made from heavy duty tarpaulin and Commander fabric, it is water resistant and built to endure daily use.
It features YKK zippers, an internal pouch, and a 2 inch wide adjustable strap for comfort when carrying a lot of weight. The bag folds into a compact pack and expands to hold up to 25 liters in volume.
The Book and Bag will be available in Limited Quantities on Saturday, October 25th @ 156 Beaubien E. from 12pm-6pm.

The idea of Transparent Plants lends itself to endless interpretations. Alongside the imagery in the book, we included another element to expand on the original concept.
The TP ALL PURPOSE BAG is an extension of the universe we’re building with this project.
Crafted from recycled greenhouse tarp, the bag embodies principles of versatility and durability. It aligns with the spirit of the book—making it an ideal complementary piece.

TRANSPARENT PLANTS by Sam Karimi & Clifford Pape.
A few years ago, we set out to collaborate on a project centered around plants and transparency.
Originally, our focus was on developing see-through flower pots and accessories to highlight the aesthetic value of the earth and the roots of flora.
As we began to experiment with samples and document our process, we started to see that the relationship between the two subjects could be communicated in a multitude of ways. This, in turn, took us in a different direction.
This photo book and all-purpose bag are the outcomes of two years of exploration. We allowed the discovery to guide our creative output and landed here.
Here’s a first look at the book and the bag in use.
The quality and malleability of each product were at the core of our decision-making, allowing for long-term use and value for those who acquire them.
We are both proud of this collaboration and look forward to making it available to you all on Saturday, October 25th.
