If you know the glorious absurdity that is the iconic British TV program Taskmaster, then you’ll understand why I’m deliriously excited for May 31.
As a 50th birthday gift, my good friend Darian Kovacs decided to turn one of my bucket list dreams into reality: competing in my very own Taskmaster-style episode.
A few weeks ago, five brave contestants — Jenn Ohlhauser, Rose Kovacs, Cliff Prang, Imogene Campbell, and yours truly — spent the day attempting ridiculous, confusing, unexpectedly competitive tasks created by Darian himself.
And now?
The footage is being edited for a LIVE screening event at The Bez Arts Hub complete with:

I took them literally.
Last year I jumped out of a plane to raise money for Cyrus Centre Ministries. They provide 24/7 Shelter, Meals and Support to Youth in Need in Abbotsford, Chilliwack and beyond.
What they don't tell you is that jumping out of a plane is scary and it doesn't always look pretty on camera. (See video - I edited out the closeup on my gut, package and shart-stained pants - you're welcome 😉)
This year, I am doing it again, but the difference is that I won't be wearing white pants AND l will be jumping with my 16 year old son, Simon. He wants to jump, but more importantly, he wants to have a positive impact in our community.
"75% of adults experiencing chronic homelessness were first homeless as youth. All funds raised go towards supporting "Home At Last" – Cyrus Centre’s transitional housing program for youth aged 16-24."

... in support of the Bez Arts Hub. Throughout our live show, we will use MYSTERY PRIZE BOXES to fuel the comedy. We will open the box, reveal the prize that was generously donated by some amazing businesses and then base our comedy on the prize. To cap off each scene we will auction the prizes to our audience as part of BEZ ARTS HUB’s fundraising initiatives for their operations and program needs.
The BEZ is our host, home, non-profit theatre, friends, and we love them, so we are excited to support them in this way.
Once again the prizes are a MYSTERY...
Our audience can’t know and our cast can’t know. Only Cliff, our artistic director, knows. But rest assured, the prizes are FANTASTIC!
Following the mainstage show there will be an academy showcase. For an additional $15 you can see our students strut their stuff and showoff what they’ve learned from their 4 weeks of classes.
