in preparation for mother’s day, my mom and i did a little photoshoot… and this is not your typical mother–daughter photoshoot. because our relationship was never just about softness and sweetness. it’s about strength: strong characters, strong opinions, strong women. it’s about our differences, and the way we still choose each other through them. and that strength is one of the greatest gifts a mother can give her daughter. to stand her ground. to speak up. to not shrink herself. especially in a world where women still have to protect and stand by each other. i was lucky to be born into a family of women like that. women who carry strength and pass it down.. from mothers to daughters, to granddaughters. it’s a different kind of love. not always soft, not always easy to understand. but it’s the kind of love that stands beside you no matter what. that fights with you, fights for you… and never lets you stand alone.
